Hi,
My partner just returned from an intensely transforming trip to Peru and is now looking for a local therapist who has experience with either doing Ayahuasca or something similar so that they can help her integrate her experience. She is experiencing bouts of intense depression since returning. I am hoping that one of you can give a referral. Thanks.

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:48 AMyou know, i experienced depression after retruning to the US as well,
it wasnt until i'd integrated my ayahuasca expriences that i started to get happy again.
'twould be great to find a therapist who understands, but patience may do the trick.

It does seem that the work was not complete when there.

Re: Help: Looking for therapist who understands Aya in San Francisco
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 10:27 AMDid your partner diet before taking ayahuasca?
Depression is possible when certain foods are eaten before going in.
Especially when unexperienced with the power of the effects.
I recommend going in again with proper precaution, with an experienced healer.
Good luck

Fri, April 11, 2008 - 10:28 AMAlso when experiencing something so far from home can cause a strange feeling of melancholy, being home-sick while being home.
Maybe you should go together to the same place.

Re: Help: Looking for therapist who understands Aya in San Francisco
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 3:05 PMAs a shaman anytime anyone does work like this, they can expect a release. Releases always are difficult experiences. In order to heal, she must go through a thousand releases, till there is no more to release, which means there has been a healing. I always recommend that females go to females and males go to males, because there are specific things women can offer other women through understanding the emotional content of her mysteries... if one wants the greatest healing to specific needs of a woman.
